| Dragonfly is a registered cow but we have chosen to breed her to beef bulls. Her pedigree includes Emperor, Classic and Red MaCombes breeding, unfortunately out of seven calves she has thrown 5 white bull calves! The only heifer we have out of Dragonfly is JP Abby X2 by a Black Angus bull. Dragonfly's '03 calf was a dun bull that we sold as a riding steer to Billy C. Hudson in MS. Her '06 calf was another white bull marked for the feedlot until his disposition secured him a place as a riding steer. We will be breaking him out and donating him to TREAT (Tarleton Equine Assisted Therapy), a riding program for handicapped children at the local college. Our daughter was very involved with this program while she was in school at Tarleton State and our family continues to be involved with the program We have named Dragonfly's '06 calf JP Second Chance. Dragonfly was bred to a longhorn bull, SCC Renegade, for her '07 calf and our plan is to AI Dragonfly to a Belgian Blue for her '08 calf. | |
